QR Code® based Face Recognition

Face authentication at access control points using an encrypted QR code.

With our QR Code® based facial recognition solution, you can take advantage of facial authentication at access points or for verification in security-sensitive processes without having to use databases: thanks to the Secure QR Code, or SQRC® for short. The facial features of a person are stored on this encrypted 2D code, which are then compared at the access control or verification point via camera with the face of the person who wants access.

  • Functionality

    Step 1
    In the first step, the so-called Face SQRC® is generated, i.e. the code on which the facial data is saved. For this, a photo of the face is taken or the ID card is scanned with the software "Face Photo" and the appropriate reader (e.g. the FC1 passport reader). The Face SQRC® Generation SDK application is then used to create the Face SQRC®, which can then be sent to your customer or employee and used practically like a security pass.

    Step 2
    At the access control point, the person who wants access places the Face SQRC® with their stored facial features on the reader (e.g. the QK30 scanner). Using a camera and the Face SQRC® Verification SDK for Windows or Android, the face of the person is compared with the stored facial data on the Face SQRC® and the identity verified. The authentication process is completely offline. User data can only be accessed via the SDK.

  • The Secure QR Code: one code – two areas

    The Secure QR Code is an in-house development of our Standard QR Code®. Visually, it resembles the common QR Code®. However, two types of data can be stored in it: public data that can be read by any conventional reading device. And non-public data that can only be read by specific readers with the correct coding key.

    5: SQRC Maker Windows Software for generating SQRC in Face SQRC system.
    6: SQRC Setting Windows For setting SQRC encryption key into scanners and BHTs.
