State-of-the-art technology enables ever-improving performance in area, access and point-of-operation guarding. Companies and their employees in particular benefit from this. For example, the use of a safety laser scanner enables area-wide protection through the individual setting of a warning field, detection area or scanning area. The combination with further safety devices such as safety cameras or software for facial recognition at the access of safety-critical zones can additionally increase safety.
Safety laser scanners scan a specific area with an invisible infrared laser. The laser scanners - also called area scanners - thus check their protective fields without contact. If they detect a person or other object in their protective field, they trigger a signal. The advantage of a qualitative safety scanner is that it can define several areas in its protective field and link corresponding functions (if/then function). This can be, for example, an alarm, the shutdown of a machine, the switching on of the lighting, a specific audio output and many other functions. Once set up, safety laser scanners usually work completely autonomously.
An access control system ensures that only authorized persons are granted access to a delimited (security) area. In many companies, precise control is important to ensure the safety of people, property and/or data. With the help of the Secure QR Code developed by DENSO WAVE, facial authentication can be used at access points to match access authorization. Compared to classic access verification, the method using facial recognition is significantly more secure.
